The Chamber identified 10 major breakthrough opportunities in 2005 requiring continuity of leadership, a multiyear effort and a promise for significant economic growth and improved quality of life. These Breakthrough Initiatives, together with new and continuing programs in Economic, Community and Organization Development, comprise the five-year plan. The Chamber encourages your support and participation in the important work required to advance this agenda.

Win recognition as a green, livable city.
Greater Waco is seeing a surge in exceptional green business practices. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) construction and a focus on live, work and play environments.
Exceed Texas average for growth of jobs, income and investment.
As the state's job market continues to lead the nation, Greater Waco will step the pace to bypass even that healthy growth.
Develop and market health care and wellness resources.
Greater Waco's central location and established health care facilities make it an ideal location for further development in this key target industry.
Enhance the Interstate 35 corridor economically and aesthetically, emphasizing the Greater Waco gateways.
A welcome sign on the north side of Waco welcomes motorists.

The McLennan Community College University Center makes earning a higher degree more accessible. It is a valuable resource to growing a workforce here.
Manage the Waco We Do brand with a marketing and public relations strategy for tourism and economic development.
