The Waco Meetings Marketplace is an annual tradeshow designed to highlight local businesses that service individuals or groups hosting events, meetings, conferences, reunions, weddings and special events in our community. Attendance is free and open to the public.

Join the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum for Military Appreciation Weekend from May 25 through 27. Information about all upcoming events can be found on the museum website or by calling 750-8631.

Avance Waco Graduation
Wednesday, May 29 • 6 p.m.
North Waco Annex Auditorium • 2015 Alexander Ave

Avance Waco invites the public to attend its 2013 graduation ceremony. Waco ISD superintendent Dr. Bonny Cain will be the guest speaker. The mission of AVANCE is to help young families break the cycle of poverty. The Parent-Child Education Program contains 27 educational sessions teaching on the cognitive, social, physical and emotional development of children.

RSVP/MCC Volunteer Recognition Event
Saturday, June 1 • 1-3 p.m.
Deering Community Center • Reicher High School

RSVP helps link senior adults with opportunities to serve. McLennan Community College will sponsor this event for over 600 community volunteers representing 88 non-profits in the Heart of Texas region. The event is free for RSVP volunteers and $10 each for additional guests. Contact Susan Copeland, director of RSVP at MCC, at 299-8577 for more information.

Bob Lilly Celebrity Golf Classic
Friday & Saturday, June 13-14
Cottonwood Creek Golf Course

Spend the weekend getting to meet and play golf with celebrities at the 16th annual Texas Sports Hall of Fame Bob Lilly Celebrity Golf Classic. The schedule of events includes a celebrity party and auction Friday night with the golf tournament Saturday morning.

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet
Saturday, June 29 • 5 to 10 p.m.
Texas Ranger Hall of Fame • Knox Hall

Join the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for its annual banquet and fundraiser. The Central Texas Chapter has been an important part of the conservation and stewardship efforts since 2000. The museum will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. at no extra charge. Tickets are $85 per couple and include a steak dinner and one-year membership.

A Conversation with Bob Woodward
Tuesday, Oct. 22
MCC Conference Center

Legendary Watergate journalist Bob Woodward will speak as part of the McLennan Distinguished Lecture Series. The event is free, but tickets will be required. Also, the MCC Highlander Alumni Association will sponsor a free screening of the movie "All the President's Men" on Monday, Oct. 21 at the MCC Ball Performing Arts Center. More information will become available at mclennan.edu/dls as the date approaches.

Mayborn Museum Complex is a place to bring the whole family to explore. Walk across a replica of Waco's famous mammoth site, see a Comanche tipi upclose or spend your day exploring the 16 themed Discovery rooms. Step outside for a visit to the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village.

The Mayborn Museum Complex is located on the Baylor University campus at 1300 S. University Parks Drive.

General admission to the museum is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children. Museum members are admitted free.

Texas Ranger

Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to the history and lore of the legendary Texas Rangers, the oldest state law enforcement agency in the nation and an enduring symbol of Texas and the American West.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Last guest admitted at 4:30 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors (60+) or with military ID, $3 for children 6-12 and free for children under 6.

The McLennan Community College Small Business Development Center offers one-on-one counseling with Certified Business Consultants. The center is fully certified under the regulations of the national Association of Small Business Develoment Centers.
