The Transportation I-35 Committee works to effectively lobby for Waco's transportation priorities including the widening of the interstate.

The I-35 Enhancements Committee works to improve the appearance of the gateways to Waco to enhance Greater Waco's image as a progressive and attractive location for tourism, economic development and quality of life.

The efforts align with the Chamber's Breakthrough Initiative to Enhance the I-35 corridor - economically and aesthetically - with particular emphasis on Greater Waco's gateways.

A new sign will be unveiled soon on the north entrance to Waco at exit 333 at Forrest Lane on the southbound side of the interstate. Plans include building a similar sign for motorists entering Waco from the south when the construction at the Loop 340 and Interstate 35 interchange is complete.

The signage, which was designed by Davis Design Studio, also will include landscaping and lights. The Heart of Texas Builders Association, Keep Waco Beautiful, the Texas Department of Transportation and the City of Waco worked together to make this sign possible for our community.

The purpose is when people drive through Waco and I-35 they notice that we care about our community.
