The Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee represents local business interests and works to advance community goals with local, state and federal governmental officials.

The committee also helps to organize Waco Day in Austin, which is celebrated every two years when the Texas Legislature convenes.

The committee strives to identify the key issues in each legislative session.

Chamber board adopts resolution regarding 82nd Texas State Legislative session

An updated legislative resolution was adopted by the Greater Waco Chamber's Board of Directors. The resolution strengthened and outlined the Chamber's long-standing commitment to economic development, education, environmental protection, healthcare and transportation. The Chamber outlines its position while stating support for the state's constitutional requirement for a balanced budget.
