The Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee represents local business interests and works to advance community goals with local, state and federal governmental officials.

The committee also helps to organize Waco Day in Austin, which is celebrated every two years when the Texas Legislature convenes. A group of more than 50 delegates attended this year's Waco Day March 27 when Reps. Charles "Doc" Anderson and Jim Dunnam and Sen. Kip Averitt proclaimed Waco Day in the House and Senate Chambers.
