Greater Waco Chamber wins Keep McLennan County Beautiful Award

The Greater Waco Chamber has received the Recycling Business of the Year Partners in Pride award from Keep McLennan County Beautiful.

The award recognizes the Chamber’s efforts regarding recycling in its facility and at Chamber events as well as encouraging its members to establish recycling programs.

“Recycling is an important hands-on way we all can have a positive impact. Collectively, recycling means we reduce waste and apply that to every aspect of our lives—both at home and in the workplace,” said Scott Connell, senior vice president of strategic development.  “Our Waco We Do It Green committee is taking a proactive approach to helping local businesses look at their own operations and incorporate a recycling program into their waste management programs.”

The Partners in Pride awards also recognized Baylor University Athletic’s recycling program, and the City of Woodway was named the Recycling City of the Year.

Mars Snackfood was recognized as a “Go Green” Business for its innovative methane capture process that retrieves methane from the landfill to power part of its operations. For more information, visit KeepMcLennanCountyBeautiful.org.
